In this event, we will explore the analytics and technologies behind the Climate Stress Testing Models used in estimating the Physical and Transitional risks relating to climate scenarios. Sebastian Glink, representing CLIMADA Technologies will introduce their modeling experience on both acute and chronic hazards such as Tropical Cyclones, River Flood, Heat, Drought, Wildfire, Sea Level Rise and European winter storms. Christian Schmaltz representing Aspect Advisory will introduce their transition stress testing approach on how to translate the official GCAM scenarios into sectorial economic impacts, client-specific risk parameters and long-term impact on capital ratios.

Sebastian has a background in Meteorology, Geophysics, Business Intelligence & Big Data Analytics; and more than 10 years of experience in building scalable technology solutions in insurance, reinsurance and retail industry. Weather & Climate was always his passion. CLIMADA Tech provides him the opportunity to quantify the impact of climate change and help organizations to become more resilient.
Christian Schmaltz is a managing partner at Aspect Advisory, a boutique financial services consultancy which designs, develops, and embeds risk models into bank’s adequacy frameworks. Christian has worked as a risk management consultant for more than 15Y with a 7Y stop-over as (assistant and associate) professor for risk management at Aarhus University (DK) and Basel III – research fellow at Bundesbank. More recently, Christian has been involved in Sustainability transformation-, TDFC-reporting- and Climate Risk – initiatives.
