CRO Circle Dinner – Autumn 21

Keynote: Dr. János Blum 

Dr. János Blum, who has been board member since 2019 has been elected president of the board of directors. He takes over from co-presidents and SRA founders Sandro Schmid and Dr. Walter Farkas. We are delighted that both will stay in the board of directors and bring in their expertise as chapter chairs.

After 19 years at Zürcher Kantonalbank, János Blum retires from this position as Deputy Chairman of the board to follow new projects and roles. János is a mathematician (Dr. sc. math. ETH) and economist (lic. oec. HSG) and was elected to the ZKB Board in 2002 and as Deputy Chairman in 2011. Since 2004, he has served on the Risk Committee of the bank, until 2011 as its president. From 1989 to 2011, he worked as an actuary. After holding various positions at Swiss Re, he became chief actuary at Zurich Re and then at Allianz Risk Transfer. He later worked for Milliman AG and as a partner for Prime Re Solutions AG, specializing in management consulting in the insurance and financial sectors. János is also Chairman of the ZKB’s Pension Fund and has several cultural and academic engagements. In July 2021 he was interviewed and stated “Neugierde ist auch eine Form von Respekt”.
