Summary

24/7 instant payments, stablecoins, and digital asset settlement are fundamentally reshaping liquidity dynamics. As financial products evolve—particularly in wealth management—deposits can move instantaneously, and liquidity can evaporate within seconds.

Enabling these innovations requires a rethink of underlying infrastructure, higher pre-funded liquidity buffers, and greater operational readiness.

As regulation and market practices continue to evolve across Europe, how should banks reassess liquidity risk in a world where funding flows continuously and globally?

And what becomes of traditional settlement processes and collateral frameworks in this new environment?

Key topics

  • Implications of always-on markets for funding and liquidity stability
  • Real-time payments and digital assets reshaping liquidity dynamics
  • New liquidity risk frameworks in a 24/7 financial ecosystem
  • Infrastructure readiness and the role of pre-funded buffers
  • Tokenisation and fractional ownership in capital markets
  • Collateral mobility and the evolution of settlement processes
  • From traditional liquidity management to continuous liquidity monitoring
  • Bridging regulated banking with digital asset ecosystems
