Let’s start today with Maya Bundt, Board Member of the SRA and Initiator and chapter chair of “Cyber Resilience”.
❓𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 – 𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞?
Life is risk. Understanding and managing those risks allows us to take informed decisions, grow our businesses, and go beyond the known. It is a basic ingredient of any business but also of purely living a life.
❓𝐈𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 – 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝?
Assessing risk and modelling them is not always straightforward, require many assumptions and benefit from different view points and creative thinking. Thus, in my view, good risk management is a team sport and requires curious minds.
❓ 𝐈𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 – 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧?
Ha! That is a good question! It is probably a decision around the important areas in life, like marrying my husband or deciding to have kids. Often big risks bring big rewards.
❓𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤?
Managing risk is an integral part of doing business. Risk managers don’t have to be the nay-sayers though. If done correctly, risk managers are enabling the business to operate the best way possible and support leaders in taking the right decisions.
❓𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞?
I absolutely sign on to the Swiss Risk Association’s mission to strengthen Switzerland’s expertise in risk management and thus improve our attractiveness as a place of business. I was so lucky as to be able to build up the Cyber Resilience Chapter. Cyber risk is a passion of mine, and I believe that we are contributing to make organizations a bit more cyber resilient. That is very satisfying.
