Summary
We are excited to launch the new chapter Credit Risk. To provide a cohesive narrative for our new chapter, we will weave together the topics of our first events into a multi-episode story. The first event of the series is “Is credit risk back?”
After a decade of close to zero credit defaults, sharp increases in interest rates over the past couple of years have resulted in an increase in debt burdens, reduced real estate valuations and questions about market liquidity. Yet the global economy has so far avoided recession with the US economy notably strong. Have we avoided a default cycle on this occasion or is it simply delayed? What are the transmission mechanics of the current economic cycle that could potentially fire up defaults?
