After the recent turmoil in Switzerland in context with the Credit Suisse debacle, FINMA executives have voiced the need for a Senior Manager Regime (SMR) along the lines of what is currently standard in the UK. This request has been reflected by the Swiss Bankers Association and even UBS CEO Sergio Ermotti has addressed it in several of his recent speeches. This event will focus on the pros and cons of such a regime and draw from the experience the speaker has gained by working with Senior Executives and the UK Regulator over the last few years.
David Rush will elaborate on
- The Origination and the Spirit of the UK SMR
- Point out strengths and weaknesses of such a regime in general and the UK one specifically
- Elaborate on recent findings in Executive Assessment which could support design of an SMR
